WHO MANAGES THE ELECTION?
An Election
Manager and an Auditor, who are representatives of the
organization's election board, manage the election. The Election
Manager and the Auditor are the election's point of contact and also
audit the election from start to finish. Safevote runs the election
service as defined by the Election Manager.
WHO ANSWERS
VOTER'S QUESTIONS?
The
Election Manager is responsible for handling direct
technical support to the voters during the election. Safevote stands
ready to assist the Election Manager throughout the election if there
are any questions that the Election Manager cannot answer.
CAN I VOTE ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, WITH ANY
BROWSER?
Yes. Voters
can vote anytime, from anywhere they desire. For example, voters can
vote using a single PC during a meeting, or at the organization's
office, where each voter can individually access the website and vote.
Safevote does not expect problems with voters using any major, current
browser. Safevote does not store or use "cookies", client side Java, or
ActiveX controls. Session cookies (that are deleted when the browser
closes) and JavaScript may be used for enhanced functionality but are
not necessary for voting.
WHAT ELECTION PRODUCT IS BEST FOR MY ELECTION?
The ZMAIL Ballot
product, with Count First (CF) ballot authentication, has the broader
application profile. The ZMAIL Ballot/CF also offers a range of election features in order to
better serve diverse customer needs, such as write-in votes.
WHAT IS THE PRODUCT ZMAIL BALLOT/CF?
CF
stands for Count First. The voter can only vote once (count the first ballot).
Unique access codes (DVC™) are distributed to each voter by ZMAIL Ballot and used with a single-click (without burdening the voter). ZMAIL™ prevents phishing, spoofing and provides email encryption with authenticated email addresses. USE SUMMARY OF PRODUCT ZMAIL BALLOT/CF:1. Preparation: The ORGANIZATION sends the Election Information to
Safevote, with information on races and eligible participants. Safevote
prepares public and restricted web pages, with access control according
to the information provided. 2. Registration: When the election begins, eligible participants
receive a secure email ZMAIL™ with their unique access codes on behalf
of the ORGANIZATION. No ZMAIL™ registration is required, participants'
email addresses are authenticated by ZMAIL™ automatically, and
participants may use their unique access codes with a single-click.
All email bounces are sent back directly to the
ORGANIZATION, for resolution. The Election Title, as defined by the
ORGANIZATION, shall be the Subject of the ZMAIL™. 3. Voter Authentication: Once authenticated by their email address,
participants must type a Personal Identifier chosen by the
ORGANIZATION, for example the Home ZIP code. If the Personal Identifier
is incorrect, access is denied (voter may request from the ORGANIZATION
a Provisional Registration to vote, see below). 4. Registration Correction: To handle member's bounced and
undeliverable email addresses, while also tracking email address
updates, the ORGANIZATION shall receive instructions, and be able to
directly authorize each one of those members, to use a Safevote
facility called "Provisional Registration" during the election.
Participants may also use the Election Site to request the ORGANIZATION
to update their email addresses, and request Provisional Registration. 5. Participation: Authenticated participants may read the Election
Ballot and cast their votes to be tallied. Provisional registration
participants may also read the Election Ballot and participate but
their submission will only be tallied if their registration has been
authorized by the ORGANIZATION. Participants may cast only one ballot. 6. Results: At the end of the election, Safevote shall audit and send to the ORGANIZATION, by secure email ZMAIL™, the election results and the voter list, in Excel file format. WHAT IS THE PRODUCT SECURE LOGIN BALLOT/CF?
CF stands for Count First. The voter can only vote once (count the first ballot).
Safevote's Secure Login Ballot process makes it easier to comply with additional needs of large organizations.
Customer can create an "Election Center" page or site that centralizes all running elections. Voters
use familiar customer pages for login and can vote spontaneously. Upon login at the customer site
using the customer's pages and the customer's directory database, which the customer
may change at any moment, Safevote assigns unique access codes (DVC™) to each voter.
The DVCs are used automatically by voters, to vote privately and securely using the Safevote process.
